Radical Grace

Listening to the lyrics of Aaron Keyes "neither death nor life not angels nor demons not anything that is to come, neither death nor height nor all of creation can separate me from your love; Jesus loves me, so" how can we not be grateful for the grace which is so over flowing? do we not realize the sacrifice God made for us when he died upon the cross?

My preacher spoke the other day about radical grace as being one of the anchors in the church. This was part of a three sermon series on what a church should be anchored on. Radical grace is not a band-aid, it is not a small little thing that continues your life on, but it is a heart transplant! It changes your whole life!! The gospel is the story of this radical grace, but the gospel is not all good news.

There are four things that the gospel defines as bad:

1. no one is perfect- the only one who is perfect is the son of God; no one can ever argue that they are perfect
2. the fall out is separation from God- the consequence of sin is separation from God, when Adam and Eve sinned they no longer lived in perfect harmony with God they were separated.
3. Sin does not make us bad, it makes us dead- we cannot live with sin, someone had to pay the price, we are spiritually dead
4. no one can make themselves alive on their own- we need help, all we have to do is reach out our hand, some people may say it's not fair, but it's not possible not, not fair because if it were fair everyone who die in hell.

we all need radical grace to save us, for we have all fallen short of God's glory, we have all gone astray, we are not perfect but we can be made perfect through God's grace

why is it called radical grace?

1. when we were at our worst Christ gave his best
• Christ died for the ungodly- Romans 5:6
• while we were still sinners Christ died for us- Romans 5:8
2. religion promises a door at the end of the journey but Jesus opens the door at the beginning of the journey, the journey begins with an open door
• we have access to God
• living in the presence of Christ and now we have peace with God
• Are you alive spiritually?
3. Where ever sin abounds grace abounds even more
• how much more?
• how good is good enough?
• God can do more for us than sin has done to us!- Romans 5:17
• where sin abounds Grace abounds even more- Romans 5:20-21
4. Radical grace is available to all who believe
• I am not ashamed it is the power of God for the salvation who believes- Romans 1:16
5. Doesn't get you saved but keeps you saved

You can't do it by yourself, you have to reach out your had to God and he will reach down and grab you and uphold you with his righteous right hand! You can't jump to Cleveland, you need God's grace everyday, its starts afresh every day is a new beginning so start every day off right.

Some days we are too caught up in our own lives to realize what God is doing through our lives. We don't find time for him nor do we find time to talk to him, with the hectic lives we all live we need to remember what God did for us, we could never be with him, we would be separated from his great love without his grace! OUr debt is paid, and nothing can separate us. 

How good is ever good enough?

We don't have to be perfect, perfection will never be achieved no matter how hard we try! What I need to remember is that no matter how deep in a hole, dark place, or sin God will come all I have to do is reach out for him. He will save me and bring me out of the hole. Yes, it is not easy but as long as I keeping trying God will never give up on me. We are good enough to God, we are beautiful and he made us exactly how he wanted us to be. He loves me.


Wisdom for the week:

God's love will never fail you, nothing can separate you from the power of God's love, although at times you may not feel his presence or you may be in a hole unable to escape, just reach out your hand and God will grab it and take you out of that hole with his victorious right hand, because his love prevails, it will never fail, and nothing can separate you from the love God has given us. He is able to rescue you, he is greater than what you are going through, and can handle the imperfections and the complications of your life. He has conquered everything, he has conquered the grave and he is on your side, you just have to reach to him and he will come to you, because you can't jump to Cleveland alone.  He adores you and will never forsake you, because he goes before you and has suffered through all that you suffer with. #GODISABLE #YOURLOVENEVERFAILS #NOTHINGCANSEPARATEME #HEWILLNEVERLEAVEME #HELOVESYOU
